About WeSailGreen
Research and volunteering, pointed in the same direction.
WeSailGreen exists on the idea that Kenya has no shortage of STEM talent or of people willing to give their time — what's missing is a vessel that carries both toward the same destination. We're building that vessel: a society where researchers bring evidence, volunteers bring hands and hours, and both are organised around a shared, practical goal.
"Sailing" is deliberate — it means setting a course, adjusting to conditions, and moving forward as a crew rather than as individuals.
The society is open to members from every region of Kenya, reflecting the country's environmental and scientific challenges rather than any one city's.
Who can join
Membership is defined in the society's founding documents, submitted to Kenya's Registrar of Societies.
The membership of the society shall comprise professionals, mainly researchers and volunteers, in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), drawn from all regions of Kenya. Membership shall be open to individuals who support the objectives of the society and are willing to actively participate in its activities and programs.

Members investigate a local environmental or scientific problem and gather evidence to define it properly.
Volunteer deployment
Volunteers put findings into action on the ground — from tree cover to water and waste initiatives.

Results are shared with the communities and institutions positioned to act on them, including county authorities.

New members join from the regions and disciplines the previous cycle exposed a need for.
